Jericho was one of the new members of the team. He joined around the same time as a person called Cyclone who he had never really met. He didn't have a job to get himself money he also didn't have a home. His mother went undercover, and joined a terrorist organization called H.I.V.E. So he know was living at the mountain. I wasn't bad. He had a nice little room that easily could hold all his possessions he had. Which was just his guitar, a few spare clothes, a photo of his family before his accident, and a laptop.
Right know for money he just played his guitar in the park, can had a sign that said 'I'm not singing because I'm mute.' A little sympathy always helped in begging. Plus Jericho couldn't get a summer job as most summer jobs include speaking to customers. He wouldn't sue if someone didn't hire him. He understood it if they didn't hire him.
He started playing songs that some people would know. He played acoustic Paparazzi, Beat it, and Thnks fr th mmrs. All songs that were well know even if they didn't know the name or who wrote it. He played happily as some people gave him money. He nodded in gratitude, and continued playing.

While the guitar man who in fact was one of the newest members of Young Justice happily strummed his guitar to classic sounds and seem so engrossed in it & the passersby that the woman slowly entering the scene and trying not to be seen thought he would notice as she crept in and silently perched on a tree branch. Out of sight for now, there to simply listen. He was a very fairly decent picker, Toni Monetti would give him credit and though she only planned to stick around a couple of minutes before returning the rest of the way to nearby Mt. Justice, it only took a couple of minutes before the half alien became so engrossed by the melodies that thoughts of doing anything else were shoved to the background. Still there was something missing. He was trying to make money to live on, she could appreciate that and maybe, just maybe, he'd rake in more if he had vocal accompaniment while he played.
Not only did Toni have a beautiful voice if she did say so herself, she also had a basic knowledge of sign language, enough to communicate with her mute teammate. Smile as she slowly descended, Toni smiled and stood next time, singing along as he played and used sign language to greet him as well as indicate that she would help him out of the goodness of her heart and hopefully he wouldn't be offended by it. Primping her hair a bit she continued singing, eyes on his instrument while he played, shifting between him and the people that passed by. Something about this guy, Toni had a feel, could make the sun shine again on a rainy day.

Jericho was surprised when a voice seemingly from no where started signing to his songs. He did find her voice beautiful. Her singing went great with her accent in Jericho's opinion. He had to wait to reply to her because he was around the middle of a song. He enjoyed playing it more this time. He did enjoy playing when someone else would do the singing. It made him feel more happy that someone was helping him. Brought a bit of faith for humanity back into Jericho after the years. You don't see such common curtsy anymore. So this really was a pick-me-up, but being on the team did make him feel more happy. Years of sadness made him give a fake smile to everybody, but for once he knew that this smile was 100% percent real.
After he had finished the song he signed a thanks, and that he could clearly understand english. Most people thought he was deaf, but he was mute, and only happened when he was 6. So he had a clear understanding of the english language. He didn't care that her skin was silver. Hell you don't judge someone like that. Especially that she didn't judge him because he was mute. He smiled to her as he signed that when they were done they should split it 50/50 because It was literally 50% percent of Jericho's playing, and 50% of her singing. He signed to her what song she wanted to do next, and hopefully he knew how to play it. Jericho knew a lot of songs, but there were still some songs he hadn't learned yet.

If Toni the silver skinned half alien were still capable of turning red in the face, she would have when she released the young man could hear her She knew some sign language but for a young 17 year old that had lived a fairly sheltered life for most of it, she never really knew any impaired people and so the mistake of assuming he couldn't hear as well as being unable to speak was too easy to make. "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean any offense. I just... I'll shut up now."
She was rich and not ashamed of it, and sometimes could let it go to her head and cause her to think more highly of herself than she should which sometimes turned people off but she always meant well. She had a big heart beating in her chest at any rate. She matched his smile and used her plasma energy to make 2 comfortable chairs. One for Joey and one for herself. Not like she was in a hurry to be anywhere. "No, no and again, no. I'm here to help you out. You must need the money and you have a great knack for playing that guitar. I will sing for you out of kindness and you keep your proceeds for yourself." She insisted. She was a model and had a good voice but she was no professional at singing and she knew nothing about how to play the guitar.
He seemed to favor older songs, classics that would be well known by everyone and their brother as they passed by and when he asked her to pick out one during a break she smiled and thought for a moment before answering. "Are you familiar with Proud Mary by Creedence? That's a good one. How about it?"

He smiled as she thought she over reacted a little over that he could still understand her even if she spoke english. Most people thought he was deaf, so this wasn't a new reaction he had seen things from surprise to apologetic. He never got offended by how people reacted to that he could understand english. It was pretty normal actually. Plus Joey likes living a forgive, and forget life style. He signed to her that it was ok. I get that a lot, and please continue talking you have a beautiful voice. He wasn't lying. He did find her voice quite alluring and beautiful. He even enjoyed her accent.
When you don't have a voice on your own you start paying attention to other peoples, and in his opinion Toni's voice was one of the most beautiful he had ever heard. She was also the most kindest person he had talked to in a while. He bet that some of the other members of the team are nice, but they didn't know how to communicate with him. The other people who actually lived at Mt. Justice had tried, even he tried. The closest he got was to telepathically talking to M'gann, but he didn't enjoy it because he forgot his own voice, and his voice was literally more bland then red tornados. So he stopped talking towards her through telepathy.
While she said that she didn't want any of the money, made him think that she was a really generous person. He signed to her asking if she was sure, and that he wouldn't be insulted by it if she took a little. He wouldn't have gotten this much money if it wasn't for her. He listened closely to what she wanted, and the song she picked was defiantly one he knew. It was also one of his favorite. He signed to her sure I know it, and started playing the song waiting for her to join in.

"Thank you, that's very kind of you and..." She began to answer then palmed her forehead. "Don't know where my head is at today. How silly I forgot to introduce myself formally. I'm Argent, one of your teammates here that hasn't yet met your acquaintance but you may call me Toni. You and I make a good team I think. You play as well as I sing we could make some serious money if we ever took the act on the road."
She didn't live in the YJ base either, though there was a room reserved for her, just like other team members of she were forced to stay in case of emergency or lockdown type situation and she tried her best to get along with her teammates despite her unusual appearance but she was still a late-comer to the team or so it felt like, and she wasn't convinced the team had fully accepted her yet. Joey was a pleasant type and a potential friend. Sometimes personalities click right off the bat and she felt the strong possibility for a friendship between he and herself. It was the second time in as many days that Toni felt she had been lucky. The first time was with her roommate who quickly became a friend and then became...more than a friend. That was something extremely special. And now she was feeling blessed again. Friends as sweet as Joe came with the sound of angel wings while they are dropped into your life.
She smiled when he said he knew the song, cleared her throat and began to sing once she had waited on Joey to lead her in.
Left a good job in the city, workin' for the man every night and day and I never lost one minute of sleepin' worryin' 'bout the way things might have been. Big wheel keep on turnin', proud Mary keep on burnin'. Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river
Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis, pumped a lot of pain down in New Orleans but I never saw the good side of the city 'til I hitched a ride on a river boat queen. Big wheel keep on turnin', Proud Mary keep on burnin'. Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river. Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
If you come down to the river bet you gonna find some people who live. You don't have to worry if you got no money, people on the river are happy to give. Big wheel keep on turnin', proud Mary keep on burnin'. Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river. Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river. Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river."

It was nice to know her name. He signed to her 'my codename is Jericho, but most people call me Joey, and I know you're part of the team I've seen you around here, and there.' He smiled as she said that they made a good team, but he couldn't just leave behind everything behind him. His mother made sure of that. putting him, and his brother through training, and when his brother left that training intensified. He would love to leave that behind, but he couldn't. He signed to Toni again 'Yeah we might even win Americas got talent if we practice. We'll at least get to the semi-finals just because of my muteness.' He made the motion of someone laughing, but no sound came out. He liked to joke about his muteness just to show people he was okay with it.
He really did enjoy meeting Toni. She was generous, and had a beautiful singing voice, and voice in general. When with his mother she was more obsessed about his father then caring about her children. He even had to learn his guitar in secret after Grant left. So he didn't get much support. Actually thanks to that Joey put fighting as something he wouldn't do until absolutely necessary. So Joey thought he got the better side of the incident. Better then the rest of his family. He was the one who joined the heroes, and the most peaceful one of his family. He would be happy about that if it wasn't so sad.
He smiled as she started singing. He then enjoy playing when somebody was singing. Especially someone who's voice is so beautiful. He found it great that she knew the lyrics out of her head. The people passing by even stopped to listen, and the money again began coming in. Every time someone gave money he did a nod of the head, and mouthed a thank you. He looked to Toni as she was singing, and enjoyed seeing her so happy.

"Joey is a nice name. Pleasure to meet you, Joey." Toni smiled, contemplating the possible meaning behind his choice of a codename in 'Jericho'. It was odd that he said he'd seen her around because she, for the life of her, was positive she'd never seen him before. He seemed so quiet and shy though, quiet not because of his lack of voice but because he struck her as being the sheltered, withdrawn, loner type The type that was comfortable not coming out of whatever shell they were in. Maybe she was reading him wrong but it was just her first impression. Then again it takes a brave soul to sit outside and play guitar for money. She admired that about him. Not normally the type of crowd as opposed to the fun loving life of the party that she was, but it was a refreshing change of pace.
She laughed at his joke about being on America' got talent. Not because of his muteness but because she was just having fun in suggesting they take this act on the road. They did make a good team but she hardly had that kind of time and by the looks of it, neither did he. The singing and playing then continued as Toni accompanied him lyric for beat of his guitar until she decided to take a break and let him play a guitar solo on the next sing, When they paused again. Toni smiled and excused herself mentioning that she'd be back in a few minutes and then flew off, returning with some bottled water, a few of those, and some chips. She could do this all day, she was really having fun. She did have to get on with her schedule eventually but she had time to spare for awhile at least and brought the food back just out of thinking that he might be hungry. "I hope these kinds of chips are okay with you. We can share them if you are hungry." She offered before picking up a water bottle and twisting the cap off, snagging a small handful of Fritos corn chips as well."You can pick the next song"
