Bobby was hurt, but the last thing he wanted to do was blame anything on Karolina. She had every right to be who she was and to like who she liked. When this was all said and done, and hopefully if they got away, he would work things out with her and agree to be friends with her. They would just have to find something else to do together besides the mall and the movie.
"You've done nothing wrong, Karolina!" said Bobby as they ran out the exit. "They're the ones who are in the wrong. They don't even know you, and assumed too much just by looking at you!" Bobby then fired an ice blast to freeze the door. It would take them a good while to break through that. From there, Bobby ran out of the parking lot. He knew they would need to find a hiding place in fast. There was the slight hope that no one would believe the story of the two employees, but if they did, the police would be looking for the two.

Then, in a stroke of luck, Ororo Munroe happened to be walking about and saw the two.
"Bobby, what is wrong?" she asked.
"My friend...Karolina here... people saw her in her true form and...well..." said Bobby, catching his breath.
"I see," nodded Ororo, who smiled at Karolina. "Are you a mutant as well, my dear?"
"No, Professor Munroe, she's from another planet," said Bobby, his voice indicating he was completely serious and not being sarcastic, something he would never be to Ororo.
"Ah," said Ororo, who still smiled at Karolina. "Well I was going to get some tea at this nearby shop. We can all hide and talk there. The owner is a mutant and will protect us."

Karolina saw how Bobby froze the door with his powers, so they could have time to escape. If she payed more attention maybe they wouldn't have been in too much troubles, and she wouldn't have hurt Bobby. She was such a mess. Bobby said that it wasn't her fault. "Yes...maybe you are right..."said Karolina still unsure. She hoped that she and Bobby could work things out and be friends after all of this. Well it was clear she wouldn't return to that mall, but she didn't care too much about it.
Then both teens crossed paths with a black woman with white hair, and it seems that Bobby knew her. She was probably a teacher in his school, thought Karolina as she breathed a little nervous. Bobby told her quickly the situation. "Well...I have lived all my life in Earth...but yes I'm an alien..."said Karolina.
The teacher looked very nice and friendly, she didn't freak out or anything by the revelation, she even proposed a good place to hide and rest, as the owner was a mutant and a friend of her. Karolina nodded. She needed a good cup of tea. "Yes, that sounds as a good idea. I'm sorry for causing a lot of troubles"said Karolina apologizing.

Ororo was a life-saver, and Bobby knew right away that she would treat Karolina no different than she treated anyone else. Ororo believed in TRUE equality after all. Bobby finally let go of Karolina's hand. It was fine when he was trying to help her out, but since they were not boyfriend and girlfriend, just walking about to a coffee and tea shop hand-in-hand would be awkward. Bobby put his hands in his pocket and said nothing at first when Karolina apologized for being trouble. He would let Ororo go first.
"My dear, you are no trouble whatsoever," she said with a smile. "It is those like the people who chased you who cause the trouble. They are close-minded and make quick and foolish decisions on how to deal with some problem that, in reality, is not a problem at all! You are most welcome to stay with us as long as you need to, Karolina."
"Yep," said Bobby. "Besides, we're friends, right? Do you think I see you as trouble?" He smiled at her as they entered the coffee and tea shop. Inside, Ororo offered to buy the two anything they wished. Since it was hot outside, Bobby ordered an fruit-flavored iced tea. Ororo told the mutant who owned the place the situation and he led them to a booth where they could drink in peace. Bobby sat across from Karolina and Ororo sat beside her.
"I wish Karolina could come back with us to New York," said Bobby.
"She can...if she wishes," said Ororo. "Xavier's Institute is not only a safe haven for mutants after all.

She felt better when Ororo talked to them. She was very nice like Bobby and she was glad to see that there was still people that were very kind and didn't judge people for who they were. Karolina gave her and Bobby a shy smile. "Thanks a lot to both of you"siad Karolina with a smile. She gave a warm smile to Bobby. "Yes we a re friends"said Karolina. She was glad that Bobby wanted still to be her friend. It meant a lot for her, really.
Once they were in the coffee shop, Karolina asked for an iced tea. Once they sat, Bobby asked if Karolina could move to the Academy, that caught he by surprise. Wow...that was wow..."I...well...I really thank the offer really, but my history is a little more complicated and well..."said a little nervous. Karolina then told both of them her story. Everything about the Pride, how she and her friends defeated them and they died at the hands of the Gibborim, how the Avengers moved them to foster houses. "Well...I don't know how my foster parents would take it...I think they wouldn't react...as they are a little like zombies...but sometimes I think that SHIELD or someone like that is watching me and I wouldn't like to cause you troubles with them"confessed Karolina. They had been very nice with her, and she wouldn't want them to have troubles because of her.

Ororo gave a slight laugh when Karolina went over her troubles. The X-Men had their confrontations with SHIELD and was quite use to Nick Fury's wrath. Him being angry for them taking a young girl from another planet in would hardly be as complicated. The X-Men had nothing against SHIELD, but unlike the Avengers, the team of mutants moved to the beat of their own drum. And Bobby was about to give the most important reason why she should go.
"Karolina, you wouldn't be any trouble," said Bobby. "Like Professor Munroe said, the school is meant for people like you and I. A whole town was after me when I was taken in. You can't stay in L.A., Karolina. Those people know your secret now, and if others believe them, you might not have anywhere to run." Bobby placed a hand on Karolina's shoulder. "Please, Karolina. I couldn't leave here knowing you were in that kind of danger. Please come with us and stay, at least long enough for all this to blow over."
"Bobby is correct," said Ororo. "You are in great danger here, and if you return to your home, your parents could be as well. Xavier's Institute is certainly not a prison. When it is time for you to leave again, you are more than welcome to. But for now, I do believe it is in your best interest to come with us." Bobby looked at Karolina with those puppy dog eyes of his, but with a smile too.
"Please Karolina," he asked again.

Karolina listened to the two of them and nodded. They were right, maybe with time people in L.A. would find out more about her, and they could discover that she was the glowing girl of the mall. She listened to Bobby's story about before he came to the institute. It was really hard. In L.A. she barely has nothing she could care left, maybe it was good she started a new life in New York... she looked at Bobby's puppy eyes, and then she nodded.
"Before I would like to hear something: do you have something to locate other mutants right? Is that I would like to locate a friend that I have, she is a mutant...and I would like to find her and see if she wants to move to New York too...after our parents' dead all of us got separated and I don't know where are the others..."said Karolina as she thought in the little Molly Hayes. She would feel guilty if she leave her behind, without giving her a place where she could be safe. Besides Molly was a great fan of the X-men and she could love the idea.
She looked at Ms. Monroe and then at Bobby. "Thanks to both of you"said with a smile.

Ororo and Bobby both smiled at each other and then back at Karolina. What she asked would be no problem at all.
"Of course we can," said Ororo. "CEREBRO is a very powerful machine. With Professor Xavier at its control, it can locate any mutant anywhere. I will speak to him as soon as we arrive. I know you will enjoy it there, Karolina, and you will have many friends who will welcome you. If you wish, you may join in our classes. Many of our course not only apply to mutants, but others."
"You already have two friends, Karolina," smiled Bobby. "Ororo and I will be there for you whenever you need us. "
"Well, I will certainly try to be," chuckled Ororo. "But the life of one in the X-Men is a busy one. But I know Bobby will be there when you need him. Bobby is admirable for his loyalty to his friends, as you no doubt have already seen."
"Tell you what, Karolina, when we get to the school, we can still do a movie night," said Bobby. "Our TV Room has just about every movie you can think of, and you can pick one out. We'll turn out the lights and make popcorn and everything just like the theater."
"I'm sure that can be arranged," said Ororo. She then smiled at Karolina and took her hand. "Welcome to our little... well I should say rather large family." The plan was to leave after tea. They needed to get Karolina out of the city and soon. The others enjoying their time in L.A. could catch up later.

Karolina smiled when Ms. Monroe told her it wouldn't be a trouble to locate Molly. Karolina was happy, she would find one of her best friends, and she would give her a place where she could get along with other mutant kids of her age. "Thanks a lot"said with a smile. She rubbed a little her chin thinking about going to classes. "That sounds good, I'll think about it"replied with a nod.
She smiled back at Bobby, it was good to see him happy again. Although she still wanted to apologize for not realizing before he had a crush on her. "Yes, Bobby has been a great friend, and I'm glad that I met him today"replied with a sincere smile.
He then proposed about the movie in the school and she chuckled a little. "That sounds as a great idea Bobby, we'll have a great movie night". She shook hands with Ororo. "It's a pleasure"replied with a smile.
"I should at least talk with my foster parents and grab my stuff before leaving. I think that at least they deserve that I told them goodbye"said the blond alien as she thought about it. She cannot wait to travel to New York, and she hoped that one day she would return to L.A.
