It wasn't often that Cassandra actually got out of the manor, or the batcave for that matter. This was one of the times, though, during which she had the team's monitor duty, assigned to be watching something that didn't even show any real crimes besides small stuff. And honestly, if Cain was going to be handling small-time crime she would rather be on patrol where she was. So it was only natural that the martial artist didn't take the job too seriously.
So when she was actually put on duty, Cassandra, spent all the time that she was there in the gym, doing some extra training. Wearing a pair of sweat pants and a sports bra, Cass was beating on one of the bags with great intensity. Coordinating between her punches and kicks seamlessly, theoretically, there were no mistakes being made on her part. But the young woman was still growing progressively more frustrated with herself.
While she was still one of the most dangerous fighters on the face of the planet, Cass was at one point even more powerful than she was currently. But since she was given the ability to speak these skills that had been trained into her from birth had ebbed more than a comfortable amount for the woman. Bruce had been training with her, trying to regain her edge, but as Batman he didn't always have time for the girl he'd adopted anymore. Thinking about this, she closed her fist even more tightly and let out an angry cry as she put her fist through the bag and split the sand-container in half.
Hyperventilating by this point, her hand really hurt from the amount of force she'd used to bust the bag, and her fist was now literally shaking with anger. Towards herself or someone else? She wasn't sure, she simply knew that it was anger.

Jericho was in his room practicing his guitar. He didn't have anything planned for today, and he did like to spend more time in his room. Stops the awkwardness of not being able to talk to anyone. He was getting bored he had a free day today. No training, no nothing. Of course he could still train in the gym, which he wanted to do. But he first wanted to finish learning everlong by Foo fighters on acoustic. He had priorities to attend to, and he was practicing all day. So he wanted to master it first. After a while of practicing, making errors, redoing it, and cleaning it up, and then playing it again three times to make sure he nailed it.
Once he was satisfied that he mastered it he stood up, and changed into a black tank top, and a pair of white sports shorts. He also put on a pair of UFC fighting gloves, and was wearing no shoes. He was walking to the locker rooms where he placed spare clothes to change into in his locker. He also got himself a towel from the towel rack. Joey always was prepared for a shower after a workout right away. So he didn't have to walk all the way back to his room to get a pair of clothes, and walk all the way back. Plus he did like taking a shower right after working out. Refreshing. He put that around his shoulders as he approached the gym.
Thats when he heard the cry of anger, and started rushing to the gym area. He looked in to see one of his team mates punch through a sandbag. He knew that she was one of the batman's trainees. So that she could do that meant she was either very strong, or something else. He entered slowly, and waved towards the girl, and signed if she was ok. If that didn't work he then pointed to her, and raised both his thumbs, moved his hands sideways, and then did two thumbs down. He knew that just by punching a sand bag till it broke is both very angry, and had a troubled passed, and seeing as was working with the bat he knew that she must have had a troubled one.

Zatanna had been at Shadowcrest most of the day, studying texts with her father and trying to find out if there was anything particularly supernatural behind the strange merging of worlds. Zatanna felt there was, but mainly wanted to see if it had to do with any of the entities in their books. She and Dr. Fate had little success, so Zee decided to head back to Mt. Justice while Dr. Fate went back to the Watchtower. She didn't expect to hear growls and grunts of anger when she popped in, but that she did.
Actually at first, she didn't hear them when she appeared. She went to the kitchen to brew some tea. She walked toward the area where Cassandra and Jericho now where and dropped her cup in reaction to the sudden noise.
"Puc Pots! Nruter ot ym dnah!" she said. The cup stopped in mid-air and floated back up into her hand, not spilling a drop of tea. She sipped it and looked at Cassandra, and then back at Jericho concerned.
"What happened?" she asked. "Cassandra's usually so laid back and calm. She's going to hurt herself doing that if she hasn't already." Zatanna wanted to console her. Knowing Batman and those who both lived with and were students of his fairly well, he felt a bond with Cass. But this anger of Cass' gave off a vibe that told Zee that if she tried to calm Cassandra down, either she, Cass, or both would end up getting hurt. Zee sighed and felt helpless.

Cassandra fired a glare in Jericho's direction as he entered. He knew full well that she couldn't understand sign language as far as she could throw Darksied. The following gestures that followed made considerably more sense to the young woman, as they very clearly conveyed a simple message that she could comprehend without a background in signing.
Not breaking the glare, Cassandra said simply, "down." To Jericho in a very curt, and almost rude, tone of voice. Her troubled past was illustrated clearly along the revealed skin of her body, heavily marred with scars that served as a constant reminder of the childhood she had suffered at the hands of David Cain. Her biological father.
Then the backwards speak was heard, and Cain turned her gaze to Zatanna. If the mountain was so full tonight why was she assigned monitor duty? She'd have to hit whoever's job it was to organize this stuff. Huffing as Zatanna inquired about what was going on, the young woman walked over to the bag top and disconnected it from the chain, then grabbed the lower portion of the training equipment and headed towards the doorway. "It's nothing." The girl said to her teammates in a very annoyed tone of voice now. As she got into the main mountain, Cassandra threw the two pieces of garbage next to a nearby receptacle and began digging through the refrigerator. She wasn't much one for talking out her problems, and when she did, she did it in a way the other two wouldn't much appreciate.

Joey got the chills when she glared at him. Her eyes were very cold, but that was nothing new. He did however see more rage in them. He always forgot that most people in the team couldn't understand sign, but he always expected Cassandra to because of how she could read body movements, but did always forget that signs were body movements, but wasn't normal ones. They were just made up.
He approached her as she said down. He didn't really care for the tone of rudeness in her voice. By just looking at the scars on her body Jericho could see that she needed someone to talk to. Who better than the one person on the team who couldn't talk. He knew that Cassandra had a troubled past, but hers made his look like a walk in the breeze. He knew that Cassandra was one that was more difficult to talk to socially, but seeing as they were going to be working together he knew that he would need to get one some good terms with her.
He looked back as he heard the backwards talk. He was wondering what Zatanna was doing here. He looked back at Cassandra who was packing, and ready to leave the gym. As she left he turned to Zatanna, and signed if she could do some kind of spell that would help him communicate with Cassandra. Hopefully Zatanna would know a spell that could help him talk to Cassandra, and the rest of the team. He followed behind Cassandra as she was at the refrigerator digging through it, and tried to find a piece of paper, and a pen. He found them in front of the TV, but then remembered she had a bad case of dyslexia. He really needed a device that he could just type in, and it would say it out loud. So he did what he did last time. He pointed to her, opened his mouth, and gestured talking with his hands, and then pointed to himself trying to say 'you want to talk about it?'

Zatanna wondered if it was such a good idea to come back now. Cassandra was upset about something, and Jericho was trying to get Cass to talk when it was probably the best idea just to let Cass vent. Cass had a laundry list of reasons to be angry, and not one of them should be taken lightly. She felt bad when Jericho humbly signed to her to help come up with a spell to help him communicate with Cass. No matter what she did, Cass would probably get mad at both of them for not leaving her alone. Zatanna closed her eyes and shook her head at Jericho.
"I'm sorry, sweetie, but it's better if we should let her calm down," said Zee. She then watched as Cass went for something in the fridge. "Maybe she'll feel better after she's had some food." Zatanna then whispered a spell to have Cassandra's favorite dish appear on the shelve that Cass wasn't currently looking in. That way it would seem as if it had just been there. She turned and sneaked a wink to Jericho.
Zee sat with her tea and watched as Jericho still tried to communicate with Cassandra. Zee knew Jericho was a nice enough guy and was genuinely concerned, but that was Zatanna. She hoped Cassandra would pick up on it as well and not be hostile toward him. Zee had been working all day and into the night, and really did not feel like breaking up a fight.

Cassandra was digging through the fridge, trying to decide between chicken or turkey for a sandwich, there wasn't a lot of variety considering that stocking day for groceries would be the following one. Glancing between the turkey and the chicken one last time, before suddenly she noticed something between two shelves. It was a bit odd in appearance, a plate with dumplings and beef with a bowl of ice cream next to it. That had Zatanna all over it. Well, at least she knew what helped.
As she turned around she saw Jericho once again trying to converse with her. He was seriously becoming a bit of a pest, and the reception to his smothering behavior was now showing on Cassandra's face. With another glare, the girl's bruised fist clenched as she aimed a lightning-fast strike to his nose.
Walking past him after this, Cain looked to Zatanna and said, "thanks...." Before going to the couch and sitting on it, she then began digging into the food, using her hands for the dumplings and beef, after setting aside the ice cream for later.

He found it weird that everything could be fixed with food. It didn't work for Jericho, but then again to make Jericho happy was to just let him play his guitar for a while so everyone had there own remedies. He smiled as Zatanna did the spell that gave Cassandra her favorite food. He also wanted to help Cassandra, but it was hard to do when she was the most anti-social person he had met. Still he would try till she would crack. Which had to be soon. Jericho would really try connect with here even if she might hit him. Which she did.
He barely flinched when she could have probably broke his noise. He touched it as a little blood started coming out. He just looked at Zatanna, and pointed it at his noise. Hopefully she would get that he wanted her to heal his nose. He wasn't really angry about it. Hell it didn't even hurt him. He was just a bit annoyed. He was trying to help her and he got a punch in the nose. Once Zatanna had healed his noise. He walked back to the gym. If she didn't want to talk to him he could at least do what he wanted to do. Maybe Zatanna could calm her down instead.
He headed back to the gym. Put a new punching bag on the hook, and started punching it. Jericho also had another way to cool off. Beat the hell out of something. Passive aggressiveness.

Zatanna couldn't help Jericho earlier, but she decided it would be a nice gesture to help him out with his nose. Nothing wrong with healing a friend if she could so so.
"Sohcirej eson kcab ot lamron!" she chanted, which would make his nose as it was before the strike. She then nodded to Cass and mouthed "you're welcome" to show that she wasn't taking Jericho's side or Cass' in this. Again, she wasn't in the mood to break up trouble or jump into an argument. She sighed as Jericho walked away and sat with her tea as Cass ate. After a moment of silence, she finally spoke up.
"Tell you what, Cassandra," she said. "You go ahead and enjoy your mean, and IF you feel like it, the three of us can talk afterward. But if not, I understand. It's your choice and no one's forcing you." Zatanna smiled at her.
Zee decided that while Cass ate, she would walk over and talk with Jericho. She knew he couldn't talk in return, but she was considerably good at picking up anything he needed to say to her. Stepping over, she placed a hand on his shoulder.
"I'm sure Cassandra means no ill will towards you," she said. "Cass' life has been a tough one, and she's still learning things, like how to express her feelings and also how to work with others. She's really only use to working with Bruce and his family. I'm sure once she's calmed down a bit, things will loosen up."

He was punching, and kicking the punching dummy as a professional kick boxer would. It was the only fighting style he was taught. It was a different than the styles his team mates used, but it was what Jericho was taught. He started furiously punching the bag at immense speed, and sometimes switching from a punch to a kick every so often. He wasn't mad at Cassandra, hell if he was abused like that he would probably be anti social as well, but he would still not try, and break someones nose just for someone trying to figure out what was wrong. Of course there was a much easier way of finding out about what was troubling her, but that would have to involve a complete compromise of Cassandra's privacy. Something that would probably end in something worse than a broken nose.
He signed towards Zatanna That he knew that Cassandra meant no ill towards him. It was Jericho's fault anyway. He still found it rude to punch someone in the nose for trying to help them, but I guess she'll calm down. He signed, and then kicked the bag again. He again started rapidly punching the bag. The rage which he got from the punch to the nose was almost gone. He signed to her if they should go back, and see if Cassandra was in a more talkative mood.

After Jericho was done punching and signed for them to rejoin Cassandra, Zatanna put a comforting hand on his shoulder and smiled as they walked. She knew Jericho meant well. He had a good heart... a hero's heart. If Cassandra didn't see this now, she would at some point. Zee was sure of that. She then beamed a little as she came up with an idea.
"You know, instead of pressuring her into talking about it, maybe it would be a good idea to try and get her mind off of it," she said. "There's lots to do around here after all. We can play a game, maybe take a run through the obstacle course... perhaps watch a movie. Or maybe see what's going on down at Happy Harbor. The town hall and some of the restaurants usually have activities going on after all. We can all get our minds off of the recent troubles. That sound good?"
Zee then stepped over to Cassandra, making sure to say nothing about whatever might have upset Cassandra. The two were friends and all, but that didn't mean Zee couldn't get a punch if she said the wrong thing as well.
"Hey Cassandra, hope you enjoyed the meal," she said. "Listen, if you didn't have anything particular to do, I thought you might like to head down to Happy Harbor. Maybe take a walk by the water or grab some ice cream? I won't pressure you though. If you'd like to sit here and relax, that's up to you."

Cassandra wasn't feeling very apologetic towards Joseph. If the girl had realized that her teammate was trying to find out why she was upset, well, She'd probably have felt bad about what she did. Honestly, Cass had believed that Jericho had been trying to strike up an idle conversation earlier, and it had then turned into she thought he had been trying to hit on her when he pursued it.
Living in Gotham, the young woman had grown accustomed to men trying to pick her up, but she wasn't keen on getting what she perceived to be inappropriate behavior from her teammates. It wasn't that she didn't appreciate the gesture, but signing was a thing a lot of people didn't know already. So feeling objectified accompanied by the frustration of being signed at made something snap.
Of course, being hit on wasn't really what had transpired, but Cassandra was simply too socially inept to be able to much tell the difference in her current emotional mind-set.
When the two re-approached her, Cain looked up to the two with her food almost finished. The food had certainly had the desired affect upon her, considerably calmer by this point, her expression also much calmer now as she wasn't thinking so intently on what upset her earlier. When Z started talking, Cass nodded and said, "yes, thank you." Leaving it at that.
Standing up, Cassandra thought of what type of weather it was outside, deciding since it was Summer she could get away with wearing her work-out clothes among the villagers. As she passed Jericho on the way out, she gave a half-hearted, "sorry." Much more than one who knew Cass would typically expect, and even more than she expected from herself. After all, the young woman had really not been aiming for his nose in her mind, she had been wanting to his a more fleshy part of his face, but her instinct had went straight for the T-Zone instead.

She looked at Zatanna when she come up with the idea of going out into town. Well going out into the town sounded like a better idea then going through the obstacle course. I think if they did that there would be another punch to the nose for Jericho, but other than that her ideas were good. He wondered why Cassandra was so anti social with everyone, but Jericho guessed she had the worst kind of childhood then anyone in this team. He won't break ask her about it of course. Might end up in another broken nose, and he didn't like it the first time she broke it.
He wanted to bring up why she screamed again, but that seemed like a bad idea. A really, really bad idea. After all Zee tried her best to calm her down again, and with that Jericho could end all the hard work he tried. He Jericho took off his gloves, and put them on the counter. Then stood back next to Zatanna. It was nice to know that the original team were still here as the peace makers. Jericho knew that with all the vibrant personalities, and different powers, some people would clash eventually, and what made it worse is that they were all teenagers, but then of course apparently this wasn't the only teenage team. There of course was the H.I.V.E academy, and all there teenage soon to be meta villains.
He let out a small smile as she said sorry to him, and signed to her that he was also sorry for getting up in her business. He was also thankful that she was aiming for his nose, and not any other part of his body. Cause he knew with Cassandra one punch could put you in a world of hurt.
