Vandal Savage entered in the Lexcorp building and walked towards the receptionist. Today he had planned a meeting with one of the fellow Light members, Lex Luthor. The reason was to talk about the next move of the Light related to the successful merge of the two worlds, and decided if the Emissaries of Evil deserved trust and if they could recruit some of the independent villains in their cause. He was dressed with a black suit and tie. He had to admit that of all the Light members, Luthor and Klarion were his favorites. The main reason he liked Luthor more was because like him, Lex shared a vision of a world in perfect order that would be ruled under their hands.
He knew that Luthor has a very treacherous nature, but Vandal Savage has been playing that game for centuries, he had already plans prepared for every member of the Light in case they try to betray him, and Luthor, that despite his lack of power was one of the most dangerous, was no exception to this. But for the moment he enjoyed the company and great thinking of Lex Luthor, besides he was a great host offering the best drinks and cigars, two of the immortal favorite pleasures.
He arrived to the receptionist and gave her a stern look telling her she had an appointment with Lex Luthor. The woman a little nervous told him that Luthor was waiting for him. With a cold nod he left and walked towards the elevator, right toward Lex Luthor's office. Once he arrived and entered he gave a smirk to the businessman. "Luthor, my friend is so good to see you again"said with a chuckle as he entered.

Lex Luthor usually had no issue with the likes of Vandal Savage showing up to meet him, but the fact was that Vandal had arrived at a time that Lex had just concluded a very important meeting with some politicians in the Metropolis City Government. Luthor had a lot going on behind the scenes, but he had to put up the illusion of being a legit businessman. As he watched the departing politicians depart, he played it cool though. He briefly looked at Savage, an icy stare, then smiled at the politicians.
"Thank you, gentlemen," he said. "I do hope my donation will go to considerable use in your Clean-Up Metropolis campaign." He then turned and motioned Savage into his office as the Light member greeted him. He then motioned for Mercy Graves to fix them both drinks and bring Savage a cigar. He knew the man all too well. Luthor then sat at his desk.
"As much of a joy as it is to see you again, Vandal, I would prefer you make me aware that you are coming prior," said Lex. "The mayor's top stooges didn't seem to take the sight of a famed criminal entering my office very well." Lex then took his drink and motioned for Vandal to sit down. "Aside from that, to what do I owe the pleasure of this little visit?"
In reality, Lex could care less if the politicians freaked over Vandal. For all they knew, Luthor had reformed his criminal colleague and was offering him a job at LexCorp. Politicians were idiots after all, which was why Lex wasn't one anymore.

"Greetings"said Vandal with a smirk as he saw the politicians leaving. He didn't give a damn about their opinion or the lie that Luthor told them so they wouldn't freak out when they saw him. For him they were sheep and he was the wolf. But he wasn't interested in causing a dirty mess in Luthor's office. But he had to admit that Luthor had a silver tongue, despite his history as a known supervillain he has been able to win the hearts of people, even really powerful as some heroes.
Vandal Savage sat with a smirk in a chair and accepted the cup and a cigar with a smile. "My friend you know me so well"said with a smirk as he grabbed a lighter and started to light the cigar. He took deep puffs on the cigar and after a few seconds, he put his mouth in a o shape and blew a couple of thick smoke rings satisfied.
Savage smirked a little when he asked about call before next time he showed up. "Since when did you care about the opinion of inferior individuals Lex?"asked with a grin as he puffed on his cigar. He blew a couple more of smoke rings as he saw Luthor taking a seat. "But I'll gave you my word that next time I'll call before"said with a grin as he puffed on his cigar.
"As you know the merge of the worlds have been successful. You are the only member of the Light besides me that can see who are the most powerful and trustworthy criminal minds of this Earth, so we can form alliances with them."said as he took a sip of his drink. "I'm sure that you already has a list of good candidates so they could work with or for us"said with a chuckle as he puffed on his cigar. He blew a couple more of smoke rings, that floated in the air, as he observed Luthor waiting for his answer. Vandal Savage himself had already a small list, but he would wait till Lex told him first.

"I care about the opinions of those inferior individuals when they choose to support and promote my projects here at LexCorp and ensure that I retain the trust of the general public," said Luthor. "Unlike you, Vandal, I choose not to scream out to the world that I am still very much involved in illegal dealings." Luthor them nodded when Vandal gave his word that he would be call ahead next time. "Excellent, Vandal, because there is no room for error in our operation."
Luthor then smirked as Vandal spoke of the criminals from the other Earth. Aside from the Emissaries of Evil, Lex cared little for them, and the Emissaries served little more than a means to an end.
"For the most part, the criminals of this other Earth are cliche and cartoonish," he said. "Their vision, their insight is limited to common plans of world domination and elimination of their foes. I have much more in mind, and to attempt to tell them of it would only result in my plans going completely over their heads." Lex then cleared his throat and took a sip of his drink. "However, there are a few who have become or will become worth our while. You have Octavius of course. Dr. Doom or Madame HYDRA could be useful if they didn't decide to play a game of egos with us. However, Vandal, right now I'd like to focus on our enemies. The JLA is spawning these new heroes... this Young Justice. I feel if we cut and burn that crop before it's fully grown, we could significantly weaken the League itself.

Vandal blew more smoke rings and chuckled at Lex's talk about him shouting that he is a criminal mind. "On the contrary my friend, is that I prefer not to hide too much. I don't yell to everybody I'm a criminal"said with a smirk. At the moment hiding and protecting his image wasn't a priority. When he would need it, he would wait a couple of years or centuries and then he would follow a behavior similar to Luthor. Vandal Savage was patient with time.
He kept blowing rings as he listened to Luthor and when he finished he laughed a little. "Ha! Luthor you always believe that everybody is cliche and cartoonish. If not remember our first meetings with the Light my friend"said with a laugh. As he took a sip of his drink he nodded to Luthor. "Yes I have been thinking that Octopus could be a perfect candidate"said Vandal Savage. When he talked about Doom he frowned a little. "No thanks, we have already a Queen in our ranks. Two would be too much for us"said referring to Queen Bee. She was brilliant woman but with her ambitious she could be complicated. Having Doom with them would ruin everything because he was a big egocentric and a dangerous one. "Yes, those kids have proven to be more dangerous than their elders..."said as he thought about it while puffing on his cigar.
He blew more smoke rings before answering. "Actually I have been investigating one of our former allies that have cheated death and that his "sons" are related to the Justice League"said Vandal with a chuckle. He took a sip of his drink and after pouffing on his cigar he blew a thick smoke ring and he smiled satisfied. "Tell me Lex, do you remember our old friend T.O. Morrow?"asked Vandal Savage looking at the millionaire.

"Why shouldn't I consider the lot of criminals these days to be cartoonish?" asked Luthor. "Outrageous costumes, laughable gimmicks. Style and class traded for childish theatrics. Vandal, you and I are two of the few who ironically stand out from all of these colorful clowns. Unlike them, we don't waste time attempting to go as over the top as possible to obtain out ends. But this is a concern for another time."
Lex then raised an eyebrow at Vandal's examination of Madame HYDRA.
"Need I remind you, Vandal, that Madame HYDRA runs one of the greatest criminal organizations in her world," he said. "Access to that kind of power would make us potentially unstoppable. And in my line of work, there is never a such thing as 'too much' when it comes to power."
Lex did nod in agreement when Vandal spoke of how the young ones were possibly more powerful than their elders. The man then spoke of this T.O. Morrow. Luthor recalled the name, but he had worked with so many villains in his time, it was hard to place a face. The part about the man having relatives in the Justice League did sound interesting though. Perhaps Lex should bring up a file on the man and refresh his memory.
"I remember something about him, yes," said Luthor. "Why do you bring him up? If he can in anyway benefit the current operation, I could arrange a meeting with him. But with a name like that, you'll have to pardon my suspicion that he might be a waste of my time as well."

Vandal puffed on his cigar and laughed a little. "Yes, my good friend you are right"said with a smirk as he took a sip of his glass. Indeed he considered Luthor more or less like an equal. They always developed small plans and plots but that they were part of a big vision and objective.
He blew a couple more of smoke rings before laughing at Lex's response. "I was referring to the man known as Doctor Doom. I heard of his reputation as an histrionic man that he could be like a Queen. And I have to say that I would like to have a meeting with Madam Hydra, I heard she is a delightful woman"said with a wicked grin.
He smiled as he saw that he got Luthor's attention when he said the name of Morrow. "Morrow was an associate of us five years ago, sadly he had disappeared and many believed that he is no longer with us...but I think he is still alive and hiding. But I'm not interested in him per se, but more in his work in androids and technology. He was the creator of Red Tornado, and one of his secrets, like a "daughter" has recently joined the team of the kids"explained Vandal Savage as he puffed on his cigar.
He blew a couple of smoke rings before he kept talking. "That little girl got her powers from some kind of nanobots that Morrow developed secretly years ago. I have found few files of that work and although I'm not a scientist, these nanobots were pretty advanced, than Red Tornado itself, maybe you could appreciate it better than me, my friend"said Savage with the cigar in his mouth as he pulled a folder from his jacket and left it in the desk. "Take a look"said with a smirk as he blew a thick smoke ring in Lex Luthor's direction.

Luthor had a terrible sense of humor. It was that, not ignorance, that caused him not to pick up on Vandal's little joke about Dr. Doom. Still, Luthor felt that Doom could be a valuable ally too, given his reign of Latveria. However, both Doom and Madame HYDRA were not ones a person could easily get a hold of. Perhaps later, but Lex had bigger things to worry about now, and concentrated on those who were available such as Octavius and Slade Wilson.
As Vandal spoke of Morrow, Lex remembered more and more about the man. A madman who had created Red Tornado, another powerful entity who stood alongside the Justice League and therefore became a thorn in his side. Why did Vandal want to go on about that?
"I trust you are going somewhere with this, Vandal?" he said. "I'd rather you not come in here and waste my time either." But what Savage had to say next did interest Lex. The information about the girl... now she could be valuable. Lex was also interested in the use of nanotechnology in this case. If they could get a hold of this girl and study her, perhaps Luthor himself could create life... create a young army to face off against Young Justice. He studied the information.
"I want to have a... little talk with this girl," he said. "Do you think you could arrange it, preferably without getting her little friends or the Justice League itself involved? I'd rather we keep this one under wraps until the time comes to reveal this little plot.

Vandal Savage knew that Luthor wasn't famous for his sense of humor, but he decided not to tease the businessman about that. Luthor was the kind of man that was more focused in a task and wasn't interested in "trivial things" like jokes. He preferred to have allies that were more controllable and that didn't have secret agendas like Octopus or many of those cartonish villains that Luthor described before. Yes Doom and Madam Hydra were powerful allies, but Doom had a reputation as a dangerous betrayer, and with his ego the immortal would try to kill the ruler of Latveria. He preferred ego in small doses. He blew more smoke rings as he thought in a future encounter with Madam Hydra.
He saw the first frown of Luthor as he remembered who was Morrow. For Luthor the scientist could be just a madman, but for Vandal Savage he was a visionary that was interested in the future. That was what interested more on Savage. "I knew that you would love what I told you my friend"said with a chuckle as he blew a couple more of smoke rings towards Luthor's direction. "You can keep the folder if you want, sadly that was the only information I found about Morrow's project. Surprisingly he was very secretive with all of this"said with a small frown.
Yes he wanted to have a meeting with the girl. She was very unique, and Vandal Savage always had an attraction and interest in unique beings. "The most surprising of all of this is that the experiments are more or less similar than the ones that the Reach made to investigate the metagene, only that Morrow's investigations started years before the Reach contacted with us"said the immortal as he puffed on his cigar. Indeed it was really amazing, she was technically the first human "subject" in the metagene, and without alien intervention. According to the few files he found, the nanobots looked like they were made on Earth.
He chuckled a little. "Sadly that will be complicated. Maybe she can look like an innocent and dumb girl of her age...but she has a strong moral code and can be very clever... also she also has connections with the Justice Society, so if something happens to her we'll have both teams under our trail. It's better if we only try to get a blood sample. We will use our best ideas to get a blood sample"explained Vandal Savage as he took a sip of his drink.

Lex did not like being told something couldn't be done. Whether it was from a villain he had chosen to align with or one of his lowly employees, he could not stand the words "no" uttered from their lips. LEx had his drink refilled and drank down half of it before he spoke of again.
"Need I remind you, Vandal, that I am the man who has brought Superman, arguably the most powerful superhero on Earth, to his knees with the use of a simple, green rock," he said. "I have humiliated the entire Justice League on numerous occasions. I have done this without the use or need for superpowers. And you expect me to believe that I, along with you and other powerful individuals, cannot pull off the simple kidnap of a young girl?" Lex then rose and threw his glass in to the wall. "Need I remind you, Vandal... my friend... that I am LEX LUTHOR! What I need done is done. What I wish for is granted. I have spent an entire life and career of obtaining what I want and when I want it by any means necessary and by taking any risk. I had my own parents murdered in order to rise out of the slums and start the business that became LexCorp. You're not an idiot, Vandal, so why do you think that after I ask for the abduction of this girl, I would settle for a simple smear of her blood?" Luthor then turned and walked over to the window. "Leave me. Return when you are ready to do business MY way."

Vandal observed Lex's face as he realized that he didn't like the no word. He rolled his eyes. Vandal was already used to listening to no over centuries, but that didn't stop him, he simply took a different route to achieve his plans and with the girl's case they could do the same.
He puffed on his cigar and blew smoke rings with a bored expression as Lex Luthor started a tantrum. Luthor could be a genius sometimes, but he was still a lad, he hadn't lived enough, and according to this rant Luthor hadn't grown up either. Once Luthor finished he blew a thick cloud of smoke in Luthor's direction and looked at him like if you looked at a child. "Are you done my friend? Yes I know of all your features, that's why I sometimes consider you an equal. But you should have in mind that with the merge of the two worlds we have to be more discrete and careful with our next movements, and this time kidnapping a young girl could bring too much attention. Also you should have in mind that she was kidnapped before in the past, and that had left her ready in case she is kidnapped again. Also with a single sample of blood we could achieve a lot of feats. Look at you that had been able to bring Superman with only a sad and pathetic shard of green stone"said Vandal as he looked at Luthor with calm. He wasn't angered just disappointed that Luthor reacted in that way, and his face showed that. "Need I remind you, that I'm an immortal, that I lived since the discovery of fire, which I discovered? I have molded and battled powerful men and women that could change the world, and I had seen them all fall because a similar behavior than your Luthor. At this exact moment we can't afford failure and if we try to kidnap her I'll assure you it will end bad for our agenda. We have to reluctantly accept that we could get only a sample of blood from the girl"finished Vandal Savage.
After a pause he finished his cigar and put it in an ashtray. He got up slowly and walked towards the exit. "Very well Lex, I'll leave you alone. But I'll return once you are ready to accept reality, you are a brilliant man, I only hope you realize that I'm right soon"said Vandal. If Luthor didn't want to help him, he could contact with others, like with Otto Octavius, yes he would listen to the immortal.

Lex hated to admit when someone was right... but Vandal was right. With the merging of worlds, it was a bigger risk than it could be before. Luthor was not ready yet to deal with any new allies the Justice League and Young Justice might have picked up. Without so much as a sigh, he turned back to Vandal and stepped over, passing Mercy as she cleaned up the broken glass by the wall.
"Very well, Vandal, we'll play it your way this time," he said. "But you are responsible for the blood sample. I want it and I want it soon. Once we use it to our advantage and I create an army of these powerful creatures, we go to war. We destroy the Justice League, Young Justice, and anyone from this other world who does not kneel down and kiss my feet! it's time this other world learns of just who I am as well!" Lex then calmed down. "I think that will be all today, Vandal. Report to me when you have obtained the sample. Good day... my friend."
Later, Lex sat in his office, pondering his next move. Vandal Savage was good at getting results, but Luthor needed a back-up plan, and he knew just who would aid him in that. Perhaps he could not get a hold of this girl who Savage spoke of, but why couldn't he speak with his "son." He looked at Mercy Graves.
"Get Octavius on the phone," he said. "I need an audience with my son, Conner, and Octavius will collect him for me."
(Lex is done)

Vandal Savage was ready to leave Luthor's office, disappointed that Luthor decided to let his ego blind him of the facts. But then he heard Luthor's steps and he turn around with a smile. "I knew that you would realize it Lex my friend"said with a smirk. "Don't worry I'll take the blood sample of the girl, and I'll let you know when I got it"said Vandal Savage. He rolled a little his eyes as he heard another of Lex's rants of world domination. Mortals, always thinking in pure destruction.
He would get the blood sample soon but he guessed that probably they would need the girl and find Morrow so they could replicate all the process, he wondered why Morrow decided to keep all of this a secret. At least with the blood they could have a start to discover all this mystery. He could contact Klarion to help him with this task, although he should make sure that the Lord of Chaos wouldn't kill the girl in the process, Vandal wanted to have Maxine Hunkel alive. He would also contact Octavious once he had the blood sample.
With a simple nod of his head he left the office. He could let Luthor believe that he was the one in charge, but soon he would see the truth, but it would be too late for the mortal man.
