The say a mall in the middle of New York City was peaceful and calm before the two Brotherhood members showed up wouldn't exactly be true. It was New York after all, which meant the mall was busy and very loud. Locals and tourists shopped, socialized, and had a quick bite at the food court. But it was easy to say that before Juggernaut and Lady Mastermind showed up, all hell hadn't broke loose or anything of that nature.
Bobby Drake sat sipping a Smoothie and waiting to meet his friends from the school. He looked about and saw all the teens having fun. He recalled a time when he was a pariah because of his powers and had no friends at all. Xavier's School changed that. Now he had a bunch friends, his two best being Jimmy and Rahne. Life was good socially, and he couldn't complain. He just wished they would show up.
Meanwhile in a place where Marko could be as hidden as possible, he looked about the food court to see if he could spot any of the kiddies from the school. He didn't catch anyone at first, but just as he was about to look away, he spotted Bobby. He turned and grinned at his girlfriend.
"There's one of the little pukes now," he said. "All by his lonesome. Think we should pluck him up and smack him about or wait for some more to show up?"

Jimmy, Rachel, and Lorna. You really couldn't see a more odd trio of people together, each individual so different from another, and one holding one but animosity towards another. But Xavier's had taught them that they would need one another, because when they manifested as mutants it became them against the world. Well, not the ENTIRE world anyway.
Hudson and Grey didn't get along because they were more or less fighting over the young woman's roommate. Rachel didn't appreciate how Jimmy behaved, and thought that him being a feral would actually be detrimental to Rahne being able to control her inner-wolf. Combine that with the fact that prior to Sinclair attending the school and catching his eye, Jimmy had regularly attempted to flirt with and hit on the younger and taken woman, while generally being a womanizer about the entire thing.
Much more prone to keeping to herself, Lorna was surprised when she had been invited to come along on the trip. If not that other people didn't usually notice her, and if they did, they usually did their best to ignore her since the revelation of who her father was.
As the three arrived at where Bobby was seated, Jimmy said, "Hey Drake, sorry to keep ya waiting but princess here," jerking his head towards Rachel, "had to stop about a million times to use the bathroom." But after making this jab at her, the feral felt a fist thump his arm, and the burning glare of his nemesis. Grumbling lowly at that, Hudson pulled out a chair for himself and lowered into it. Rachel and Lorna quickly followed suit, the seats making an obnoxious scraping sound as the legs moved across the floor. "So Bobby," Rachel began, "who else is showing up today besides us?"

Angelica was enjoying a nice trip to the mall. Usually she barely left the school only to see an exposition of art in the city, but today she felt with the mood of buying something, and the mall sounded as a good place to start. As she entered she couldn't remember the last time she bought something in a mall. Maybe it was when her Nana was still alive, they bought some winter clothes together. She smiled a little by the memories and realized she was thirsty.
She walked towards a vending machine and bought a can of coke. As she took a generous sip of the can she spotted the friendly figures of fellow students in the Institute. All of them were New Mutants with her and maybe this would be a good chance to hang out with the others. Usually she was a little distant during training sessions mainly because she feared using her powers too much. She walked towards the group. "Hi guys, it's good to see you here. You don't mind if I join right?"asked the red haired girl as she looked at them.
For Regan sneak in the mall without being noticed was a child's game. Using her illusions, she had been able to enter with her boyfriend and lover Juggernaut inside the mall, looking for New Mutants or X-men to attack and destroy. Now that Cain had special shields if he lost his helmet against mental attacks, they would be ready for everything. After a while Regan also spotted the numerous group of students of Xavier and she wickedly smiled. This was gonna be too fun.
She smiled back at Cain with confidence. "Lead the charge my love, they are gonna wish to be in their little classrooms once we finish with them"replied Regan.

Bobby beamed when his friends showed up. He rose and threw his now empty cup away before approaching them.
"Nay, it's okay," said Bobby, winking at Rachel. "We're just hanging out at the mall. It's no rush." He then smiled when Angelica approached. He didn't know she would be joining them, but she was more than welcomed. Angelica and Bobby went back a little ways, before he had met Jimmy and Rahne in fact. She was one of his first friends at the school. They didn't chat as much those days, but Bobby still had a world of love and respect for her.
"Hey Angelica, glad you could make it!" he said. "Of course you can hang with us! What do you all want to do, see a movie, go to the arcade?"
Whatever the plan was, it was about to be ruined. Juggernaut was about to approach when he stepped back again. More of the little runts had showed up. Now there were five of them. But that didn't worry Marko one bit. Between he and Regan, they would be taken care of. Five less problems for the Brotherhood. Fortunately, the two Brotherhood members were clad in civilian clothes. As long as they stayed out of the direct sight of the group, Marko figured others wouldn't notice them. And when it came time to pounce, Marko had his armor on underneath and Regan's hold on him preventing those like Rachel from messing with his head.
"Let's move, love," he said. He then stepped into the food court, making sure to avoid the New Mutants until he gave his girl the cue.
