Spiderman had been so intent on busting the Octo-Spider for good, he had been unaware of the arms going for him. So he was then taken by surprise when the 4 arms wrapped around him simultaneously. Over the years, Peter, had been coiled upon by 1 and even by 2 in the past, but all 4 at once was something he was unsure of whether he could actually make his way out of or not. It was only a matter of moments before the strain on his bones began to get stronger.
Already he could feel one rib breaking. Spiderman knew it was now or never and immediately flexed his muscles, and began attempting to pump his arms and legs outwards. The first few pumps were met with no progress, but after about 5 or 6 more there was the slightest sound of the metal straining. No sooner was this sound heard did another one of his ribs crack and break. This prompted the hero to begin pumping harder and faster, hearing one of the mechanical components break within the arm.
This went on for several more minutes, Peter then realized that even though he was making progress, there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell that the hero was going to bust his way out. It was time to play possum. Shutting his eyes and bowing his head over in feign unconsciousness, Spiderman's breathing grew shallow, and it was moments before the machine tossed him to the ground and thought him done.
As Octo-bot walked away, Spiderman immediately sprung into action and flew towards his foe. Landing on the back of his enemy and wrapping his arms and legs around the foe, it was time to try a new tactic, one that he had been afraid to use on living things but seemed perfect for this situation.
Palming the top of the enemy's head, Peter, immediately made the mental command to his body that initiated his "wall-crawling" usually. Following up by yanking with all of his might, ripping off the "scalp" of the robot and revealed within it all the workings. Inside there was what looked like a control-switch. Taking the immediate opportunity, Spiderman punched his fist into it, only to be met with a high-pitched whining.
This was indicative of a self-destruct sequence. Spiderman's eyes widened, and he said to himself, "uh-oh!" Taking off full-speed mere seconds before the robot went off, a cloud of explosion engulfing the hero as he attempted to flee. The ensuing fire it caused was small, and quickly handled by forest rangers, but they had failed to locate anyone besides the bomb that was apparently the source of the explosion. Little did they know, trapped under a trunk and no small amount of ash, Spiderman lay breathing shallowly as the on-screen display on one of the wrist-mounted SHIELD web-shooters flashed on and off while giving off a distress signal to the last frequency it had been set to.
