Due to its, tragically, short run, Young Justice didn't get to touch base on every character in the DCU. But then again, you can't really do that with an animated televesion series without having it run for at least a decade. Thus, we come across a certain conundrum. Many players wish to play characters from the DC universe who don't exist in the show itself. Doing this gives us less to go off of for the characters and how they should be played, so now, at this point we encourage characters to be interpreted and taken different directions.
After all, many characters in Young Justice don't necessarily fit into the role of the comic book equivalent. Ex. Artemis Crock was a villain in the DCU. Kaldur was not the first Aqualad, that was Garth. Beast Boy didn't gain his powers from a martian blood transfusion. Superboy wasn't a brooding loner most of the time. Roy Harper wasn't cloned to create Red Arrow. And so on.
Thus, we'll allow players to take liberties when applying for those who aren't members of the YJU at this time.
